Coffee the Hawaiian Way

Being the only state able to grow coffee in the US, Hawai’i has always had a long, special relationship and history with the popular beverage.

Coffee was first introduced to Hawai’i in 1825 by Oahu’s governor at the time, Chief Boki, who brought the plants over from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and planted them in Manoa Valley. Since then, coffee has flourished throughout the Hawaiian islands, including the world renowned Kona Coast, and has become one of the state’s most valuable commodities.

What makes Hawaiian grown coffee so special? Credit goes to Hawai’i’s ideal climate, from rich volcanic soil and elevation to hitting the right balance between sunshine, overcast and rain. Hawai’i has become among the most famous coffee exporters, and is known to produce some of the finest coffees in the world. We hope you enjoy our coffees, which are all locally roasted and packaged out of our state-of-the-art facility in Kapolei, Hawai’i. For 100% “Made in Hawai’i” coffee, check out our Pure Estate roasts. Mahalo for supporting Hawaiian Paradise Coffee!
